Glasgow-based Seated Records return with more 1980s Scottish Post-Punk / New Wave material. In this 8-track mini compilation, “Dust: recordings 1980-1984”, the label introduces the work of Stirling band 22 Beaches, following the band's journey and the changes in their sound over the years. The compilation moves from the raw, punk energy of early DIY recordings through to the dub-influenced A Certain Ratio style Balearica of their later work.

Get ready to embark on an ethereal journey with Jannis Carbotta's long-awaited debut solo EP. Jannis' artistic focus on the tension between analog and digital spaces is evident throughout the entire release, as he employs classic band instrumentation as well as processed field recordings and electronic experimentation to craft a unique and captivating sound. "A Magic Spin" was co-produced and mixed by the drumming wizard Jan Philipp, with whom Jannis also collaborates in the experimental indie band Infant Finches and forms the duo Aeol. This fusion of ambient, electronica, alt pop, and shoegaze effortlessly creates a soundscape that is both otherworldly and intimately personal. The record features 5 original tracks plus an exclusive bonus track, an exclusive reinterpretation of Slowdives ”Rutti", which will only be available digitally via Bandcamp.

The clatter of jungle birds, the chatter of frolicsome monkeys, and the gruff bellow of a majestic lion all conspire to challenge the woofer and tweeter of any listener’s hi-fi.Since its initial very limited commercial release exclusively on stereophonic reel-to-reel tape circa 1960, this long-player has occasionally made cameo appearances in record shops throughout the years, trickling out in limited numbers in a variety of formats, each iteration under a novel title and a different label.Temptation: The Exotic Sounds of Chaino is a hi-fi demonstration record of one bit of ironclad truth: the reason Chaino — who relocated to the ultimate exotic paradise in 1999 — is known as the self-styled “genius of African percussion” is that he merely anticipated that the rest of us admirers of his prodigious percussive prowess would soon enough bestow upon him those rightly deserved honors. This album’s long-overdue wider release should create many more such acolytes. And that’s no lie.

Freestyle Records reissue a DIY 7" from 1980 by short-lived all-female group Spoilsports. Existing at the intersection of post-punk, jazz-rock and modern soul - these two political yet playful numbers were laid down by a band formed from a range of players active in London's feminist and improvised music scenes at the time, and represent the groups only recordings.
