Reissue of this obscure cassette from 1987, a really interesting rarity by Carl Matthews under the CAM moniker. Sturdy synth basslines sculpt solid rhythm patterns that bring to mind the innovations of the moment in electro and dance records. Having in mind that Matthews was a white ambient composer, it´s very curious to find him dropping these groovy bombs that sound like a primitive detroit electro or hip hop beats, mixed with sampled voices that recall Art of Noise influences. Also to mention the conceptual work: Quid Rides is inspired in Roman Civilization, as the name of both the album and tracks point (all of them in latin). Experimental-roman-electro seems to be a pretty weird label, but works fine here... Mutant-futuristic-proto-electro for roman statues would work too.

Letterpress cover, including insert with liner notes by Colin potter, who has also been in charge of the remastering.

This is the first release from long time running party 'Lost Control' in Manchester and Berlin and NTS resident under the same name run by Black Eyes. The label itself is our new extension of the portal from the 7th dimension. Specialising in plasma house, sub-aquatic electro and cyber techno all brought back from the year 2097. The first EP is from Texan electro legend Cygnus. We don't need to explain how good he is. We just hope you enjoy the ride of cyber soul at its deadliest. There's even a tribute track to city of Manchester where Lost Control was birthed. The vinyl colour is inspired by the by acid blood of the xenomorphs from the Alien movies, meaning it's translucent fluorescent yellow. "They mostly come at night...mostly!" The record is also mastered by Dutch synth genius Rude 66.
Second Ballet Mechanique re-issue from the Eevo Lute archives. Originally released in 1997, it was his second appearance on the legendary Eevo Lute imprint. The Borrenbergs 12 EP II marks Jeroen Borrenbergs return with three jams of 90s feeling electro and half-stepping techno that easily passed the test of time. First track 'Where's The DJ (Pissbreak Mix)' counts over 13 minutes of gritty acid electro, making a halfway transformation into a moody two-step mover. The perfect two-in-one track gives you all the time to go for a toilet break while still being in the mix ;). On the b-side the emotive side of Borrenbergs returns to the surface, with 'Vinyl Voyage' being a spooky bleep jam and 'Diamond Cut' presenting his trademark bassline energizers. Fully re-mastered 2021 edition.
Some serious hot tracks on this fourth instalment of the Scandinavian Swords series. It breaks with its predecessors' forms. Deviating from the austere brevity that marks Northern Electronics out, Scandinavian Swords IIII: Atlas of Visions completes a survey of the label's confidants and components in the same breath as it introduces a swarm of new artists and genre-collisions. With the swell of the last 12 months behind them, Anthony Linell and Jonas Ronnberg have forged the compilation with a paradoxical formula: Atlas of Visions stakes itself as a milestone release that retains the sure-footed programming of its proprietors yet cuts a new silhouette for what the platform of a Northern Electronics release consists of. Presented across two volumes, Atlas of Visions courses through the hyper-pigmented and infectious fallout zone between club-focused works and the abstract territories of experimental modes. The release compiles egression and intensification into a pandemoniac whole, a refracting design for fractured times.
Body Meat—the project of Philadelphia-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Christopher Taylor. Streched and bold out of shape pop accompanied by mangled electronics that meld together like a beautiful peice of abstract dance. full info soon!
The next release in Lapsus Records 'Perennial' series is from veteran producer Lee Norris, also known as Metamatics, the pseudonym under which he has spent more than two decades creating melodic IDM and sophisticated electro.Norris is an artist who warrants his cult following with an extensive catalogue and countless monikers, including his main work as Metamatics and alternative projects Norken, Nacht Plank, Ishqamatics and Autumn Of Communion. This unflagging artist with an enviable track record behind him has released material on labels such as Delsin, Hydrogen Dukebox, Dot, Numbers and Clear, as well as running his own record labels Neo Ouija, ...txt, XTT Recordings and Nagual. His seminal EP series '01', '02', '03' and '04' was originally released between 1997 and 1998 on the now defunct but influential Clear label. Compiled as 'A Metamatics Production', the tracks breathed fresh air into the global IDM scene and were comprised of crystal clear futuristic sounds, flirting with complex and funky drum & bass that carried both UK and Detroit influences, a true masterpiece.More than twenty years since its original release, Lapsus Records is proud to present the British producer's original debut album 'A Metamatics Production', released in full and on vinyl for the first time. All tracks on this special collectors double-pack colour vinyl release have been remastered and will include a limited edition insert.
