Bhasmantan - as this body is turned to ash - is the moniker of elusive artist Giuseppe Piol.In the mid 90s the Italian dance scene was evolving, steering away from the usual Dream House formula, changing and adapting to new sounds and new ideas. Like other fellow electronic music producers, Piol at the time was going through a “psychonautic” period of his life, experimenting simultaneously with new hardware in the studio and psychoactive substances at illegal rave parties. This whirlpool of stimulating experiences gave light to one of the most sophisticated and esoteric Italian techno records, the namesake Bhasmantan #3 (published originally by Spock in 1996).We are happy to give light again to this extremely sought-after treasure, a transcendent journey from hard stomping acid techno to introspective dreamy downtempo that has no similar.
The Book Room is Kilchhofer's musical diary, it's his library of emotions. It's a fairytale, an imaginary place shaped by exotic cultures, an escape from modern society, a collage of real and imagined experiences. You can hear influences abstracted from a wide number of musical approaches: the story-telling nature of folklor music, naive and conflicting rhythms of tribal drums, melodies and pads reminiscent of classical minimalism and microtonal experimental music, the freeform approach of early electronic music and krautrock, and buried deep within the tracks some hints of hedonistic dance and club music.
Tel Aviv born producer “Nadav Siegel aka Autarkic” has been releasing nice indie dance tracks from Disco Halal, Life And Death, Turbo, Optimo Music and name a few.
IT44 - US - 2020This is the debut solo release from Eris Drew, featuring 3 new songs meticulously mixed for the maximum impact of the Motherbeat. From the very beginning of the emergence of Eris Drew, we at IT have been blown away by the power of her DJ sets, where she channels the psychedelic energies of rave and love -- the music reflects the power of transition and of fully becoming who you are. Part of what was so exciting to us is that her sets find a new path through the sounds and ideas that inspired No Way Back and so many other wonderful things. So we asked her to create an EP for IT that would reflect these ideas, and our favorite ecstatic healer delivered! Here we find her carefully exploring the intersections of House and Breakbeat culture, a proto rave ecstasy music that exudes the Fluids of Emotion, higher consciousness and the conceptual art of the KLF. Eris has previously released on a compilation on Needs Not For Profit, and a split EP with her equally inspiring partner Octo Octa, but this is her first full solo EP. This EP was recorded at Eris Drew's parents' home in Chicago and mixed in the Interdimensional Laboratories in Detroit with BMG. Comes with full color picture sleeve.
Placid aka Paul Wise is the chief in command at ‘We’re Going Deep’ – an online community and record label, born out of a lifelong affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and obsession for collecting records since 1988. On a mission to share and release new music via his We’re Going Deep imprint: you’ll find only the best in Acid, Electro, IDM, Techno and Deep House for the dance floor, front room or even just your headphones.Bringing the sounds of a true pioneer of Electro and Techno fusion to the next WGD solo series edition, Carl Finlow is renown for seamlessly blending the rhythmic intricacies of Electro with the hypnotic allure of Techno: creating a unique sonic identity that resonates deep down to this day. As a founding member of the iconic 20/20 Vision label, there is no doubting his pivotal role or pedigree in shaping the sounds of the Electronic music landscape, having released timeless music that has transcended genres over the past decades. A master of the sonic journey that blends futuristic textures with a timeless essence, he sets out his stall with the creeping drawl of ‘Equi’ on A1, leading with heavyweight bass that’s set to cycle as metronomic snares pop to sci-fi synthesis that can’t help but make your body twitch. It is however the lush shimmer of ‘Aether’ A2 that really captures the heart and soul. A tour de force in emotive Electronics that arise from the depths of Atlantis to sweep you into a whole other moment of existential bliss. A superlatively crafted composition fuelled by the power of the DX-100, awash with melancolic strings and whispy melodies that are combined to perfection – ANTHEM alert!Over on the reverse, the menacing rumble of ‘Affinity’ takes hold on B1 as Finlow exercises a certain prowess balancing airy textures with the visceral, creeping to the finish line with nothing but gold on his mind. Lastly, the 80s spectrum tinged tones of ‘Septagon’ B2 lead us on to another level as you’re lured in by downright gnarly bottom end, as glassy arps and atmospheric touches complete his vision.
