Peruvian sax player Nilo Espinosa and his group, also known as the Nil's Jazz Ensemble only ever recorded one album in 1976 and it, remains not only as one of the truly grails for collectors of Latin-American jazz fusion but also as an outstanding piece of music on its own.

Uusi Aika is a fresh new ensemble from Finland. Their self-titled debut album will be released by We Jazz Records on 25 November 2022. The band's music could be described as introspective and meditative, but that's only a part of the story. The instrumentation is acoustic and their sound organic to the bone, but the music's slowly unfolding character brings to mind some deep abstract electronic music or experimental dub explorations at times. That is, there's power just under the surface, just beautifully out of focus.

Lead by 17 year old Carlton “Dirk” Poward, San Francisco’s Monsta was one of many ephemeral late seventies funk and disco bands that haunt the dreams of record diggers worldwide. This is the only song Monsta ever released - on a 100 copies one sided test press - in 1979. But what a song. Produced by the late Bill Withers, Give Me Something Good Is an epic disco funk monster that has never been reissued to this day! This Past Due Records reissue comes with a full sleeve and the story of Carlton “Dirk” Poward, Monsta and how the mighty Bill Withers got involved in the production of this magnificent slice of boogie.

New Flava Volume 1 is an audacious project birthed in Austin Aggrey-Odoom's brain in the Spring of 1995. Austin, being a devoted Christian as well as a massive music fan, was a regular at different churches across the London Area during the mid-90's. He then connected with many young aspiring Gospel/Soul/R&B singers and had the idea to produce a Gospel album that could appeal to a younger crowd, mixing US R&B influences, to create a new kind of Christian R&B that could have radio potential, while showcasing U.K.'s underground Soul talents from the Gospel community. His love of God and passion for music would finally merge into this hybrid compilation project called New Flava Volume 1.
